I wonder how many forum members are woodwork teachers or training to be?
Today in class I was once again dissapointed when a grade 10 student could not tell me what half of 1100mm was. This is grade 5 work and he is not disabled or challenged. I spent 20 minutes out of the woodwork class drilling some basic maths into him and he picked it up but it is scary to see the amount of students who slip through the cracks.

P.S. I replied to Hagrid about a year ago wasn't it? Sorry you were diappointed with my posting.uhm , where am I ?

Sorry for the slow reply.
The problem with the Gifkin jig is that the router bit is exposed all the time and that can lead to problems.
The jig i made means that at no time is the bit exposed.
As for can they be used, in truth i do not know but will find out.
The school where i just finished my internship uses a router table and i must say that it is far safer for students to use my table than the other one.
