Incorporating the service stuff as a centrepiece is a good idea because it only takes a couple of glasses of Glenfiddich for his war stories to replace the bowls stories.
I may even turn half a wooden lawn bowl to sit in the top of the frame with a photo inset.
I'll post some pictures if I get up off my freckle and do it..
