I'd like to make one a little bigger to incorporate the commendation, a baby photo and a recent one.
I put together something similar for his 80th birthday party but it was just a photo history of his life 'blue-tacked' to a sheet of MDF. It would be good to do something a bit more permanent. Incorporating the service stuff as a centrepiece is a good idea because it only takes a couple of glasses of Glenfiddich for his war stories to replace the bowls stories.
I may even turn half a wooden lawn bowl to sit in the top of the frame with a photo inset.
I'll post some pictures if I get up off my freckle and do it..

Adrian, I apologise for the incorrect web address. The one I gave you was to a nursing site. Please insert .gov.au not .com.au. This site will allow you to access his service record. That will detail exactly where he served, when, with what unit and a couple of other interesting things. You might also want to try www.diggerhistory.info

I wish you all the best and look forward to your pictures.

Thanks. I did wonder about the nursing site link.
