Simple Unit For My New Love - The Lcd Tv
Here is a simple unit I made for my new love - the LCD TV - total cost $32 - mostly old floor joists and floor boards. Man it is hard on the tools.

seriously mate nice job... i'm waiting for my telly to cark it so i can get a flat panel either a plasma or an lcd and wall mount it I dont understand why people who get these tvs dont wall mount them then ya have no worries about cleaning dusting and all tha crap that accumulates on them plus they are also a great space saver all ya need is a small shelf underneath for the video or ya could do what Im planning on doin is have the video/dvd player with the foxtel along and the stereo in a linen closet in one of the bedrooms and distribute to the living rooms no more crap everywhere and the kids cant leave cds left on top of the dvd player and stereo

Nice job. Pity the pics are are little dark as it looks like a good design from what I can see.
Is the top solid timber, and if so how did you put it togetherI know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

top
the top is a frame of solid floor joists - then filled with old floor boards as the most common complaint about stuff that I make is that it cannot be moved by mortal beings. I like the idea of wall mount as well - but the mounting bracket would have cost me more than the unit I made - so two kids one wage and a mortgage wins out again - but alas I get to spend more time making something....win win all round.
