Spoons are addictive
I never thought making spoons could be so addictive lol. It certainly helps now I have proper spoon carving knives.

As a matter of interest do you buy the American walnut in Australia or get it sent over to you?

Your spoons are as well carved as your selection of attractive woods?
Do you have a choice of finishes?
Your knives are Mora #162, #163 and #164?
What have you found to be useful for sharpening and honing?
Revise the bevel on a used farrier's hoof knife from 25 degrees to 12 degrees and try that.

Cheers.
i got the three hook knives and one carving knife.
ive found wet/dry sandpaper on flat boards as well as wrapped around a dowel work best for me and then use a strop as well as a dowel with compound on it.
i use food grade mineral oil on the spoons and chopping boards.
thanks for the tip, I'll look into itLast edited by Jan mikula; 3rd March 2018 at 11:47 PM. Reason: Added sharpening
