Spotted gum, Tassie blackwood and ebony pen case
Recently completed this pen case commission. The box is salvaged spotted gum and the inside is blackwood, ebony makes up the feet, knob and feathers in the mitre joints. Base and top are solid floating s.g. panels. The hinge is my own wooden hinge system and it was ebonised with prooftint black. There are secret features to the box.

What a lovely job you've done on this. The small cove on the edge, rather than a round over, is a very effective feature that takes the finished product to another level. How do you make that hinge? Very nice.
