Tha "Ambassador" Box
Hi all,
Just another box, made of Jarrah and with an insert of book matched highly figured Red Gum. These pictures were taken before any wax or other finish was applied. Just oil and sanding.
This box is going to Massachusetts general Hospital, Boston MASS., where it will be used for holding manuscripts and articles related to Leukaemia and Stem cell research.
Regards,
Rob

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

"Ambassador"? "Leukaemia and Stem cell research"? Mass. General? There seems to be a story behind this box.
Nice looking box. Be interested to see what it looks like with the finish applied. Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Hi Zenwood,
Ambassador, cos it's an ambassador for Aussie timbers in New England.
Stem cell and Leukaemia because I worked in research at Harvard Medical School for 4 years and know a few of the guys "around the traps" and still contribute to a forum group focused on research based in Boston.
Here's some pics of the box finished in Trad Wax. I think you can see how clear the reflection is in a couple of pics particularly in the second where you can see the red cedar grain reflecting in the side of the box.
Regards,
Rob
