Wine Cabinet for the Folks
Well, after some help from my lovely wife and some suggestions from thoughs on the forum, its oiled and finished.
Comprised of Tassie oak with Jarra insert's in the door's and top. The handels are also Jarra. The inside is 100X100 thick fencing stuff to hold the bottles. 3 draw's and 2 door's. Finished in Hard Burnishing oil.
Hope you like it.
Comments and critisisms always welcome.
Merry Xmas to all.
Regards Jamie

Looks fantastic! The jarrah strips on the top look great, and the fencing is a great idea too. I'd love that!

The handles have come up great - the curve picks up the feature in the doors.
BTW can I see some kind of mesh in the doors as well?
The folks should be stoked when they receive that!!!Cheers

Silly me I forgot to mention.
The door's where suppose to have black stained glass in them at first, but it was to expensive. I was going to go for fake led light and again to hard. So I went with black, aluminium, thick fly wire. It worked out ok.
Thank's for the comments so far.

Nice work, Garell, with some interesting design features. Being able to see through the doors to the wines within has alot of merit. The jarrah rays on the doors look really good. Are they steam bent or anything?
Some things to think about maybe: smiles instead of frowns on the drawer handles? and shoji paper instead of wire mesh on the doors? Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

G'Day Jamie
That looks great! I love to top too, I didn't pick that up in the other thread, looks fantastic.
The handles compliment the doors perfectly.

Thanks for the kind remarks about the cabinet.
The Jarra in the door's is a piece 38 x 8 mm with each leaf being 7mm cut on the table saw. Then very very gently bent into place. I had no breakages but it was close. My wife suggested paper in the door's but my twin boy's would have put a hole in it by now. As for the handles I thought of having a smily face but it didn't sute.
Thanks again
Jamie

the cabinet looks fantastic - I especially like the Jarrah in the doors backed by the mesh, I love the fact that the wine is protected but you are still able to see the stash.
I have already got a design in my head to build one for my folks - it is now rapidly changing!!!!!
I'm sure your parents will love it.Cheerio.

Well done. Are you going to stock it with some healthy red before you give it to them?
Nice design is it you own or did you get it from a magazine?
Either way nice job!
