Wood rotating stand for my shaving Brushes.
Over the last two years, i have been shaving the traditional way. Using a double edge safety razor and shaving brush. I have accumulated a few brushes and razors, and i didn't really have anything to store the brushes in. So i decided to make a stand for all of them.
The base and top are pine, cut with a jigsaw. I made the slots for the brushes with a 1 inch holesaw. The middle cylinder is cherrywood. I had a "fun" time with this one. Since it was a blank turning stock, and i don't have a lathe. I had to sand that sucker down by hand. It's almost a perfect circle (but that took more than a few hours). I glued small pieces of leather in the slots, that way the brushes don't get scratched.
I used a "lazy susan" mechanism, to make the whole thing turn.
I made the base big enough, so i can fit some shaving soaps and creams.
Here's the 'lazy susan' mechanism.
