    Default Wooden sailing yacht sculptures

    Just a couple quickies:

More wooden sailing yachts made from Cherry, Walnut, Maple and Mahogany. Laminating the curvy wood was a little tricky at times, but overall, I'm happy with the outcome. Thanks for looking.

Wow man - things of absolute beauty. How long does each take to finish (approximately)?

Yeah and I like 'em too!

    Specially the wavey bits!

What method do you use to shape the sails?

I use powercarving tools. Foredom with a carbide bit that some people use to carve spoons. Then lots of sanding(36-50-80-100-180-240-320-400-600). The sanding is the part that makes ya lose it LOL.

Well done. Could you let us in on how you create the patterns in the sails?

Stunning! Absolutely beautiful. What other items do you sculpt? I'd be interested in seeing more.
    Thumbs don't grow back
