    Default Friday Wasteland

Welcome to the 24 hour wasteland known as Good Friday. In some ways I loath Good Friday because, if I wanted to go somewhere, there is virtually nothing open. Usually I don't fret over this day because as a shift worker I always request to work. Due to recent change of jobs though, I now get every public holiday off.

So for those who remain agnostic, an atheist, a theist or just plain ignorant what do you think of this time of year?

No traffic as I go about. And chocolate. Going to go and make my own curlies today!

Use to live near to a brothel in the "90s. Heaps of guys were very disappointed on good Friday!

At 68 years of age I haven't yet lost the ability to occupy my time without having to go shopping or to a museum or whatever.

Look on the positive side, you have 24 hrs to contemplate your navel, contribute to the forum(oh you already did that), ride your bike, go for a walk, mow the lawn, wash the car...........

I'm the same however I'm being a little provocative with the thread without being offensive

This morning I've already gave the Minister for Everything a sleep in, taken the kids and dog for a walk to the swings, cleaned up the kitchen and watched Richard Raffin's DVD 'Turning Wood'. I don't plan on making curlies till this afternoon because the neighbours, in the morning, don't like the sound of the dusty, especially when they've given it a nudge the night before I'd just like the option of going elsewhere if I wanted to, get what I mean?

Why didn't you invite them up? White with one, and black with two takes on a whole new meaning.

I don't live in Sydney anymore, but Easter is the best time to be in Sydney.

So far, I've watched some of the Masters, cleaned a section of the drive that was desperately in need of deweeding, felled a self sown tree (y'know the one with the red berries all over it) started watching Barabbas (love the Epics but miss the funny commentary added by comedians) and wrestled the cats. And it's only 11:30AM.

Holidays are only fun when you're working

I'm waiting on some hardware bits and pieces I've ordered (kitchen type hardware and computer hardware). I've followed the courier tracking and they made it to Hobart last night. I'll have to wait now until Tuesday for delivery.

Lots to do in the shed and garden so 4 days will just fly past....

Default Good Friday ??- Damm Windy Friday 2012 'ere !!!!!

Can't do a jolly thing outdoors, or in the workshop. It's blowing a," right Royal GALE, " here, straight from the West,- Norwest, " First hour or so this morning the day was nice and sunny with a gentle breeze blowing, then from about 11am onwards the wind, ( GALE ), sprung up !!
Everything loose changed hands, or blew from one side of my yard to the other !!
The whole town is full of weekenders, but the streets are very, very bare of people, & vehicles. To make matters worse, on the western side of Port Vincent is a recently ploughed 100 acre paddock, and all the loose topsoil in blowing across the town as well, especially into the northern half of the town, & where the Marina, with it's " Million Dollar, " houses are situated, which methinks would now be an interesting shade of Brown !!!. ( so much for having a waterfront luxury home )

Went down to Tooradin to make curlies. First I thought I'd found everyone while driving through Belgrave. Puffing Billy must have been running. ANd only 2 cafes open. Then when I got down nearly to South Gippy Highway traffic was backed up forever. Cut through some back roads to Tooradin but still couldn't get across the highway with no gap in the traffic. Everyone who wasn't going on Puffing Billy was going to Phillip Island.

Did finally make it across though. Had a wonderful time festooning the place with shavings. For some reason much more fun than festooning the place with shavings while working. Although that is pretty fun too. Lots of mess to clean up on Tuesday though.

Look forward to the WIP. I turned some Poly Resin with gum nuts inlaid to it. Damn that stuff is hard, had to resort to the angle grinder
