I doubt you would ever tire of that view!!

At the moment in town (Tamworth) is a huge amount of "blowins" who have come for the Counrtry Music Festival. We live 18 miles north and only go to town if we really have to. So we have to stay in our rural retreat until they all go home at the end of next week end. Our summers here are pretty hot and the thought of standing during an out door concert does not generate much interest. So we stay at home in peace.

Don't get me wrong, if you were right into Country Music it must be wonderful and its good for the town (40,000 visitors).
    I just don't like crowds
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

Well, I suppose so. Looking out my front door, the horizon seems mighty close.

I've seen them, they are truly magnificent, bit steep for a game of marbles but, good to look at.

Those "hills" are about 20-30km up the Holmes River valley.
I'm in there 10-20 times each autumn during the hunting season.
Grouse, slate, sand, wood for carving, lots of things to look for.

If you would like to fly above me, you can use Google Earth.
I use it to figure out where side logging roads go.

Find McBride, British Columbia. Get above the highway (HWY 16) to fly SE.
    1. Cross the Fraser River on the edge of the village.
    2. Go maybe 15km to cross the Holmes River. This is very distinctive because you will see
the tight left-hand hair-pin turn off the highway on the E side of the bridge.
    3. Fly up the logging road 15km to cross the Holmes River.
    4. Fly another 10km or so.
Those mountains, and many more that look just like them, are S of the logging road.

There was a bit of frost on the lower flatter areas & around the gullies.

We are on very steep ground, it was 8°C outside our house but 5°C about 3Kms down the road & 3°C about 15Kms away as we drove through at 7:30am.
