Shot 14 Feb 2007 from West Hobart looking towards Rosny Point on the Eastern shore of the Derwent River. Wow factor = 10

150th Royal Hobart Regatta, Hobart Cup or Wooden Boat Festival. You choose. It went over our house then straight up until a tiny orange glow blinked out. As you say, very cool.

Don't worry mate, you'll be back. We ALWAYS come back. My old man's one ambition in life was to get rid of his wife and 6 kids and move to Bribie Island. He did that when he turned 55. Hwas back by 65. Every year older - it got hotter for him.
    See you in 18 years.

    Cmon down TermiMonster

unfortunately there are no more dump and burns..

have to say I wasn't quite sure what was happening. It was either the end of the world or a finale of some description to the fireworks.. it had the windows shaking in the house and the neighborhood looking off their verandahs.. as has been commented already "very cool"

    I don't believe in F111's.

    I think it's a new comet or a UFO

Gumby believe me.. for those of us who don't read newspapers or watch Too much TV including the news it was a UFO..

THe papers for the next couple of days had editorials from distressed people.. I think 000 had a bit of a work out from people who thought that the "terrorist threat" had become a reality..

Not in West Hobart mate. On the sunny Eastern Shore a mate of my SIL took the shot. 2 mins from Bellerive beach. I used the Domi in anger for the first time today on the little stool Kev gave me. Forgot my memory pills and stuffed up a couple of times with the settings but finally got it worked out. Geez I love it. Maybe we could get together sometime and compare notes.
    Cheers
