    Default cheers!

Thanks for that info. Unfortunately I currently live in suburbia in Sydney and somehow doubt council would let me build anything resembling 1/4 of yours but I live in hope! (now if only I could get brave enough to approach council to see what limits they want to put on my dream shed). I'm currently working on the approach of 'if you don't ask you won't be disappointed' and saving $$ for when I finally get around to doing all the necessary investigation. Somehow I think they'll tell me I can't go bigger than 6m x 6m and that's a garden shed in my book, and not worth it.

Maybe I'll just have to get the hell out of Sydney and buy a farm somewhere, and THEN I reckon I might build one to rival yours!

Keep the pics coming as you fit it out.

    Timbernut.

You sure it's being erected in the right spot as that view just doesn't match anything around here

Hi Harry, thanks for the update on the budget. It looks pretty much like what I was expecting.

Keep LOTS of pics coming as you continue the fitout (will be watching with interest and making notes for my future project)

$23K to get electrics to the shed? strewth! Are you running 3 phase to it? What size cables?

    Default oops!

Thanks DJ, got too caught up in the piccies to re-read the thread properly and missed that bit!

Bummer on the electrics. I reckon any 'quality' shed should have 3 phase if at all possible (and I'm sure Harry'd have it if it were available, considering the effort (and cost) going into this one! I suppose he can always run a phase converter if necessary.

can someone please tell me - when you build a shed in this manner (ie shed first and slab after) what is holding the framework off the ground and in a fixed position?? Are the uprights suspended higher than the slab will end up being poured to (and then lowered later and bolted into the slab?) or does the concrete get poured around the uprights and they just end up in the cast slab?

Or is it that there were piers bored and concreted first (and if so how deep please?) and threaded rods cast into the piers, and this is what is used to suspend the uprights pre-slab?

    Thanks in advance

Bang on TN, the footings are 700(dia)x900mm threaded rods are cast in, this allows for height adjustment. The next time Im out there I'll take a photo of the footings for you.
