    Thumbs up

    My thoughts also Masoth.

My grandfather was a Galipollli vetran. my father and two uncles were in Tobruk and then New Guinea.

I have two cousins who served in Vietnam.

Anzac day means a lot to my family.

These guys certainly didn't have a good Anzac Day parade.

Guess this could have some implications for old war vehicles taking part in the march.

    This is also tragic.
    Reality is no background music.

I miss my dad on days like this. He fought at Tobruk and was wound twice on the Kokoda. My Uncle served in Korea and Nam but died after contracting hepatitis on the wrong side of the Cambodian border while serving with special forces. My youngest cousin just retired from the RAAF after three tours of Afghanistan and numerous other hot spots so he is now safe at home.
God bless all our brave troops.

I take heart from the fact we still remember and have successfully passed this on to the next generation.

Now this is not to put down the day at all, but it is interesting we honour the members of the armed forces on this day and use this event to teach our children about past conflicts yet is a person from WW1 or WW2 was to visit us today they would be horrified that essentially what they fought for was for nothing in the end, with so many of our freedoms eroded over the years, taken away by government...

    I can't agree RC,
I will concede that our freedom to carry weapons has been curtailed,
however, I suspect that many of our diggers would consider living without the need for guns well worth fighting for

    Lest we forget

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

We have lost many more freedoms then that... A lot of minority groups would attest to that...

Fully agree. Rather distressing to see an Anzac thread hijacked on Anzac day.

    How quickly we forget.
