    Default things that cost lots

tThe council clean up is on again, and as I dutifully drag out stuff that I've hung onto for years, things that need throwing out, but will get dusted and tucked away again,
things that I paid lots for but are now entirely obsolete and worthless,
...there's the 6 cd stacker that took up half the boot..... whoda known that you'd be able to fit a squillion songs in a thing the size of a credit card.
...all the slr camera gear..... even the newfangled digital camera (1.2 meg with a 16k memory card that cost a motza)
... the huge rear spoiler for the Datsun 180B ... nah, that's goin straight to the pool room.
... then there's the ABmaster 2000 ,..it'll give you a body like a sock full of walnuts.. (that's assuming you use the thing)...

.....anyways,...it can't be just me with this hoard of useless things that'll never get used and never get tossed......can it?
    ...

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Don't you have garage sales where you live?

People will actually give you money for that stuff!

Anyone want to buy a computer with 20mb hard drive and 16 m of ram. But wait, it gets better, I did give away a tandy trs - something or other; I do remember that it had 16k (No, not m) of memory, had a green screen, a tape cassete deck for storage and I had to type in all the programmes in basic.

Last 4 sold on Epay went for between 83 and 200 dollars, some were body only, lenses tend to still sell as well.

Of course you do. This is how antiques gain value.

Original Pong - gone but not forgotten. Me too.

A neighbour's widow, years ago, got fed up with a basement full (yes, full) of HO trains - went to the landfill - sickening.

FWIW, some SLR lenses can be re-used on digital bodies, e.g. Pentax K-mount.

    Cheers,

I have nothing that should be thrown away. Hubby on the other hand..... He on the other hand thinks HE has nothing to throw out, and I have all the junk.

Hubby has an old Mac that we have to keep cos he wrote some computer music that can only be played on THAT computer. Doesn't work on up to date models.

I have a large sedan boot totally full of stuffed toys, and i do mean full. My 3 year old is a budding hoarder, so i smuggled around 15% of her toys, the ones that needed to go, out to the car while she was asleep. That was three weeks ago and she had not noticed a thing missing , because there are sooooooo many toys here that we prob need to get rid of another 4 boot loads!!
BUT.......three weeks on they are still in my boot because i realised that i need to take them to an op shop in another suburb, because if i donate them all locally she will want to buy them all again, lol.
