Well, about a month or so ago, Neil, the owner of this board, turned on a feature in the BB software called "reputation points". Basically, what they let you do is rate the quality of a member's post. There's is an icon on the bottom left of the poster's id pane that lets you do this. The more positive responses you get the more green dots show up against your user name.
Similarly, if you get negative points you loose green dots.

Well, to start with, everbody thought that this was a great fun idea.

Then people started receiving blue dots as well as green ones. Then it was "oh oh, trouble in paradise".

A lot of angst was expressed, mainly because the allocation of points (positive or negative) was annonymous.

It got to the stage that the rep points were disabled for a time by (the moderator supreme of these boards) because Neil was away at the Sydney show promoting his products.

Eventually, Neil returned and he and found a way, so that when you give somone a rep point, you cannot do it annonymously.

Everything has been sweetness and light since then.

If you want to know more, Neil has set up a rep points FAQ which you will be able to find if you have a look around.

Hope this clears things up for you.

    Craig
