Thumbs up Digital TV on your PC

Thought I might let you all know about the great little boxes you can get for you PC so that you can view and RECORD Standard or High Definition TV.

I have had a Fusion DBT Card in my main PC since XMas and it is great but I just got a tiny little one for my laptop. This is a USB 2 box, is small and does HD & SD. Whats so good, the price - $169 delivered. Works a treat.

    Check them out at http://www.digitalnow.com.au/Digital...fications.html

(Note: I am not on commission and have no financial interest in this coy or product - just thought some might be interested)

I get on my computer to get away from TV. We've got Foxtel digital. 100+ stations of crap, mostly.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

    Gumby,

Yep, me too but there are a couple of shows I like so I can record them in Digital on the PC and drop two shows to DVD so that I can watch them at my leasure.

Only trouble is its like wood tools
You record the tv , now you need a bigger hard drive
    Now a faster cpu
    Then a new Mother board
Then your've got more shows recorded that you don't have time to watch so you get a new burner..........
and SHMBO wrinkles the nose and says what do you need that for
(they never understand the logic )

However the usb connection unit does look good I'll have to ckeck them out a the next computer fair.

The trouble with life is there's no background music.

    Thanks wayne

I was looking for something to hookup to my R51. The cheapest thing I could find was around $300 from memory. It was planning to take it camping so the kids could watch TV and a few DVD movies while away.

    Ashore,

Yep, I started out with a 60gig in my home PC. Added a 120gig and then a 200gig. 380gig all up and, like the shed, still not enough space.

2 x !20 gig in external boxes using usb connections
Ran out of space and ide slots
Two new grandsons and a digital camera can play havoc with your memory
but will seriously have a look at usb tv unit
may be cheeper than a digital recorder
have to check out the software though
    Cheers
    Russell

A picture is worth a thousand words, and so it should be it uses up a thousand times the memory.
