The folks are farmers, I was born in the bush and lived in the bush until I went to Uni in the city at the age of 18 back in the seventies (had hair then).

Met lots of rude unhelpful ignorant and impractical people who treated me as a hayseed. Many of them used commercial radio and cheap newspapers as their source of information of the world.

There are some good people in the cities and these are well represented by woodworkers.

I guess I only ever physically left the bush. I am sure many of you could make something quite unprintable out of that.

Keep the dream alive! When Lawsie was on the radio I always understood the dream to be something like this:

"You low-paid drones out there should keep buying the products that I push so that the sponsors will keep paying me, so that I can leave my multi-million dollar property to fly to work in my chopper and drive around to Sydney's best restaurants in my Rollerr".

It's a simple dream really.

Never listen to the talk back twits but am reminded of B.T Barnum who really knew people. Among other things he was reported to have said. "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the public. " He was right of course. It's one of the things pollies rely on.And yes I know BT's other famous quote.

and he was interviewing that 14 year old daughter of the murdered family. I don't care how well she's coping, she should not be being interviewed on telly.

Exacerly But nothing is more important than the all mighty TV ratings, for that all moral, decency and sensibilities go out the door, more so on 9 than any other channel. 60 Minutes once was a great programme, now it's like what I wrote above.

At least we still have 4 Corners.

I've never understood his popularity either. But then I've never understood the popularity of Ray Martin, Eddie McGuire or Darryl Summers. It doesn't say much for the Australian TV and radio audience.

Any of you know of Rush H. Limbaugh II /If not he is the pompous twit from whom Laws ( I believe ) stole the introduction to his show. Laws was also fond of quoting Limbaugh and Moore ( Bowling for Columbine ) without any acknowledgement whatsoever. He seems to think that we mere mortals are unable to read or remember anything.
