East-West Transport
Anyone know of any trucking companies who do the east-west run and would be interested in a very (very) small backload from Perth to Brisbane.
I need a brushcutter, and being 6'1 I need a straight shaft, the bent shaft things require me to stoop and with stuffed discs I can't use them.
The cheapest straight shaft brush cutter is $158 from Tradetool but sitting in Perth I have a high end one.
If I can find a trucking company that will throw this thing on a truck for $200 or less I'd rather get mine over from Perth.
Any ideas?

No one does Perth - Brisbane as an unbroken trip or if they do it is pretty rare but getting stuff back east is easy as the trucks come back empty and they are always chasing back loading. Maybe get onto one of the transport forums and put out the word there might work. Disassemble and post would work as well but get all the fuel out of it!

Yep, costs half as much to send West to East as the other way. You should be able to find something competitive.

E-go: 8kg @ 90x30x30 from 6000 to 4000 is $31.17 .... door to door
Just have someone slap the label on it that you email through. I do it all the time. If you are a platinum member it is only $26 and free insurance.

Looks like Ego is the way to go at $92 - length wise the thing is about 1800 long.
It's stored at the house of my 71 year old mother so having her pull it apart is not an option.
But I can live with $92 - that's $70 cheaper than the cheapest straight shaft brush cutter I can buy and this thing is 10x the quality.

Don't forget the insurance with your chosen courier! It's a long trip and worth the investment.
