    Default After Five?

SWMBO received an invitation to her works Christmas party and Dress is "After Five". Does that mean I can wear my trakky dacks and ~15 year old Hendrix tee shirt with the holes in the armpits. This is what I usually wear around the home after five .

Of course you can John....just don't expect your wife to talk to to for a couple of months.

Beaudy, it's a win win. I'll be comfortable and I'll have some peace and quiet for a couple of months .

In white-collar-land After Five usually sees the women carrying their high heels in their hands, their bras in their bags and their waistbands undone. The blokes have their ties in their pockets and their top shirt buttons undone.

After Five here usually sees me in a tee-shirt and no pants... as I am for most of the day.

You could put on a nice frock. Bloke on Rake last episode was wearing one so it must be terribly fashionable at the moment.

A barely long enough tee-shirt is all I require thank you.

My comment was for John. So are you bearing a guilty conscience?

Okay, I'll bite. After five equals underwear and t-shirt for me (and I suspect most of us). Now I ask you all to visualise this scenario.

I have no problem with dresses except they're damned uncomfortable when it's hot and windy.

That sounds fine to me but seeing that it's a formal do, and to please your wife, wear a black tie to go with it.
