The flowers that bloom in the spring, tra-la
One thing is apparent after the pizzling we took with the rain last summer, and that is the boost it has given to the flowering of the trees.
It's hard to imagine a better season. At the moment we have Flame trees, Jaccarandas,Silky Oaks, Cape Chestnuts, Melaleucas, Bottlebrushes and Leptospermums all in glorious colour. Some are past their best but it is great to see..There are also Ipe in flower along Logan Road near Garden city.
In the next couple of months I suspect the Poicianas and the Colvilleas will put on a great display.
Who needs to sniff glue or snort cocaine when reallity is so much brighter and safer???

Same down here. Mango & Davidson Plum trees are jumping out of the ground after good rain & a couple of days of sun. Some warm weather will kick them on. The natives are going well too. Neighbour's wattle is full of cockatoos and king parrots, my garden has rainbow lorikeets and crimson rosellas dining well.
Great time of the year.

I noticed the same thing down on the Mornington Peninsular last weekend Alex.
Everything flowering plus the added bonus of the birds.
The bird life here is always great, now it's even better!

You know what they always say here, Arthur.
Without pictures it never ...
So here are some.
The Qld Tree Waratah and Golden Myrtle are trees that I planted on my place around 25 years ago. A number of each, actually and they've been in splendid flower this year.
Others are taken around Brisbane.Brian

Hello Arthur
The succession of flowering continues. Quite a number of Queensland Maples planted around town here, way south of their natural habitat. These are just about to open their flowers, but this one here is a bit ahead of the pack. We know this as a cabinet timber but how many are aware of it as a splendid flowering tree.
I noticed this morning that a small group of White Silky Oaks (Grevillea baileyana) are full of bud and I'll get a photo when they open.Brian

Went out with john- aka Gawdelpus- yesterday and noticed a row of Qld. Maples in flow in an industrial estate at Yatala. The Baileyanas are really blooming here also.
Some Poicianas are also in full regailia and the various members of the LIlly Pilly group are cutting loose.

Great pictures Brian, things are looking terrific around here at the moment.
Reality is no background music.
