Try some exploration drilling suppliers. When I was living in Kalgoorlie about 15 years ago the suppliers use to sell it by the 20L drum. Can't remember the name of any of the places, just that I use to deliver the stuff to them. I think it is used by air core drilling, they pour it down the hole to seal the top friable layer so the hole can be pressurised or something,

As far as I can tell, such foam is mostly used by insulation contractors and boat builders. Probably best mixed at the nozzle to reduce misadventures. Google [foam] in the box above just got about 10 hits. Perhaps you already know this, of course. The new "Renovate forum" could provide a better search venue.

Thanks Burnsy. I should have explained I don't need a huge quantity, rather a small one. I have to make a liner for a racing seat in the kart as the pilot is complaining about having to hang on by his toe nails and the steering wheel. What we will do is put a large garbage bag in the seat and pour the foam in then he will sit in it and the foam will expand and fill all the spaces. He then won't be able to move when cornering and stop whinging about being uncomfortable. As this thing does about 210 KPH he reckons he has a valid reason to be comfortable.

Bunnies sell the cans of expanding foam but the two part mix yourself , havent seen it in years, as joe said try boat builders or chandlers
just read your last post not sure what you describe will work the expanding foam creates a fair bit of force as it expands the driver might actually be lifted as it expands saw too much get poured into the front locker on a lifeboat once and it fractured the fibreglass hull and tore the front timber locker apart , rekon the cans from bunnies would be the go but do the seat in 3 or 4 stages even then might need a fair bit of reshaping

If you want good expanding foam, either rigid, soft or medium squishy etc - just go to Barnes - http://www.barnes.com.au/ - they have all sorts of latex and polyurethane foams in varying densities, rigidities & fire resistance. Also different sized drums too.

Fill a garbage bag with sand and put it in a 3 cornered box so it can't squish out the sides, get the pilot to nestle into it then cast a fibre glass mould from this.

We did a lot of custom rally seats like this.
