Default Lost - not in my shed but someone elses.

About 12 months ago I lost my electrical insulation testing meter - I searched for it high and low multiple times.

This meter looks like a multimeter but it was stored in a chunky, IP67 rated, black hard plastic, padded carry case that was worth about twice what the meter itself was worth and being much bigger than the meter it was pretty hard not to miss seeing it.

My usual ploy when I lose something is to stop looking for it and look for something else and eventually the original item turns up. Tried this a few times, found lots of other stuff but no meter.

I emptied out the cupboards full of electrical gear, wiring and components in the shed, and the electronics cupboards in my study several times.
I did find some small MW lathe tooling I had lost about 2 years ago which was worth the hassle.
One place I thought I might have left it was at the mens shed where things disappear quite quickly.
Put up "Lost" notices around the shed and asked around - nothing.

I had given up looking for the meter and was almost at the point of buying another when yesterday I get an email from a bloke I visited over 12 months ago to perform a motor conversion. Like many of us he has a very crowded shed with stuff all over the place. He says, I've finally decided to have a bit of a shed clean up and found a black carry case with an unknown meter in it and it looks like it might belong to you!

Better still, given the bloke lives some distance away, he is delivering back to my place today.

That was very nice of him to return and deliver the tool back to you.
I lost a winch cable and 2 snatch blocks in my shed, they were in a bag that I used to use for 4WD training, spent ages looking for the stuff, couldn't find it anywhere. Eventually found them at a second hand place???
He'd bought the items at a Garage sale, fun and games trying to prove that the items were mine!!!
