Can I just ask, are B-O remotes radio waved?

I mean your going through all this trouble with finding the right system etc, but there is nothing worse then lying in bed, half asleep and you have to roll over to grab the remote, then angle it toward the unit....and if its in a cupboard, sheesh, Your gonna have to open the cupboard up or NOT and bang ya head on it in the middle of the night going to the loo LMAO

I just wanted to say, that BOSE have an awesome system. My Dad has had BOSE systems for 16 years or so and the newest unit he has, has the most smallest set of speakers (speakers can be wall mounted)with the rest of the unit hidden, with a remote control that is radiowaved. So no matter where you are in the house, you can turn it up, on or off. This system would be THE system for the house. The quality of sound and the loudness these guys throw out is amazing. Worth checking out!

I certainly wouldn't base my choice on a website. Go into the best sound performance shops around and try out all the systems. After all, If your going to throw $3000+ at them, its gotta be what you are really after.

Thanks for the advice gentlemen...Think I might put this idea on the back burner for a while. I got some timber work to get on with round this place and thats going to take the penny prioity for time being...But you've all given me some good ideas on where to look when the penny tree starts flowering again.

Shane, some of the little Kenwood systems ($300-$600) have remotes. Put the system in a nice little bedside or bedhead cabinet. Plug it into a cd/dvd/box unit and go with the 5.1 surround sound mini speakers sold with the TV entertainment systems.

My main desire with this though is for it to be wall mounted. And while all the common hi-fi brands have mini hi-fi's in there range, none are wall mountable. Well you could mount them on the wall but they arn't designed for it and would look terrible.

Hmmm, well no I actually didn't...Shame on me! :eek: I thought I had looked through the yamaha site properly before you posted that, but apprantly I didn't...Thanks for that! Will follow up on that one as well.

I also got a hardly normal cattledog today and they have a fairly cheap one in it. Looks just what I want, but am doubtful.

Yeah looked at that system a while back. Rather a nifty idea really. But would be better to setup while building. So will leave that one sitting at Todd's until I build. But by then something else will be along no doubt..

Hi Shane,

For what it's worth, I can't recommend the B&O too highly as a stand alone unit. We've got one in the bedroom that puts the big component system in the lounge to shame.

Just remember, B&O are great at Audio and are amazingly innovative. (Did you know that they invented 'Dolby', had a better idea and sold Dolby NR to Dolby Labs and kept the good one themselves).
