Overseas Postage/Carriers
Hi All,
Looking at sending some timber overseas ie UK and USA.
Ausposts rates were (to me anyway) eye watering.
I did a search and most of the threads were the reverse into Australia.
What is the cheapest way to do this and who should I use?
Thanks all.

I have never posted OS but I have done a lot of postage/freight work within Oz and the only way to get costs down that I know of is to have an account with a carrier of your choice for larger stuff. Have you tried Pack&Send? It should be cheaper to export from Oz than import because there should be a lot of empty air freighters going back to the US and Europe.

Seems like the cost of post FROM the US may have recently changed. A workmate required a Front Wheel Hub assembly for his Dodge Grand Caravan. Somewhere between $180 and $230 local cost.
I introduced him to RockAuto in the US, with a warning about post cost. In USD the assembly cost him 57 and the post 20, and it arrived in less than 7 days..It arrived in a 200mmish cube box, and weighs a bit...

Double that: 2-3 months to the USA via AustPost, but the cost is down to $45. Try their calculator:
