Victa mower kill switch

Hi our good guys here. HELP ME please!

For a long time my Victa mower can never start easily.

After checking some websites I came to conclude it has to do with the kill switch. What I normally did was to do a spark check before any attempt to start.

So I normally take out the plug and watch for sparks by pulling. Once I find the sparks and if I put everything back it can start on the first or second pull over 90%. What I have to do when not finding any sparks was to insert my two fingers through a narrow gap. Pull out and push back ONE wire slightly and patiently. I did not know exactly what I have done but this way always help. I have repeated this for many times with success until last week.

Last week I never have any sucess for getting a spark. So that time I took out the oil pan, tried look at both wires to see what else I could do. Since I found nothing I just put things back.

Problem is: now I found pulling the string fast will give me very high resistance after it turns for about one round. If I pull the string slowly the coil / blade turns normally and I experience normal resistance. What do I do wrongly?

Ok without seeing your mower in the flesh:

It has 2 plugs in the head. One of those used to be a decompression valve which makes pulling the starter easier. The resistence your feeling is probably good compression. You can buy replacment valves.

The kill switch works by earthing the magneto to ground, short circuit. All you need for this to work is the wire running to a convenient place and being well insulated from the body of the mower, then at it's end something to short it to the mower body, or the handle you hold while mowing. Check the wire along it's length to make sure the plastic hasn't rubbed through, then fit a new cheap switch to the end of it.

For easy starting get some aerostart. Remove the air cleaner, squirt it into the carburettor and quickly pull the starter. It'll fire right up. You will needs sparks though

mowers are so cheap now it makes it debateable whether it's worth repairing one.

Perhaps I was not clear. It is not the same feeling of compression. It is some very adnormal resistance I am having while pulling the cord. The blade moved less than a full turn and I feel it gets stuck.

Before I took the petrol tank apart trying to examine the kill switch wire it is ok. The cord can be pulled normally and no problem. I emphasize the feeling I have now is very different, never before. The replacement valves may need replaced if I had touched something but I can't think of what that something was.

The problem I have is NOT how to stop the engine via the kill switch. The problem is I can't make the mower starts. My diagnose concluded that it was hard (or impossible) to start because there were no sparks. Strange is: every time I mug around one white wire shown in picture for a while sparks will come back. When I found sparks the mower will start easily and almost for sure. What's wrong with the portion linked to that wire?

By the way, it is a 2-stroke thing.
