    Default Where do you go?

When you have to go shopping for the day with your wife, where do you sneak off too, to fill in time?

Who in there right mind allows themselves to get sucked into going shopping with thier wife.

Coffee shop, book shop, music shop, electronics shop.
They never put a tool shop anywhere near a shop that a wife would go to.

Have you ever wondered why a wife will always show up just as you have found something you are interested in, and say she is ready to home, yet when you are bored senseless she hasn't seen all the shops!

There seems to be a conspiracy to keep any shops of real interest away from the women's shops, I guess in order to keep us (and our wallet) focused on the main game.
The only ones I manage to duck into with any relish are bookshops, and the occasional oddity like the local Den for Men...a gift shop for those with limited imagination, a hotch-potch of smoking paraphenalia, mock swords, shaving kit, die-cast models and tankards/bar decor. The closest thing to a tool is a pair of nail clippers, but at least it isn't full of dresses and toiletries.
Actually there is a knife specialist shop in the main centre, everything from kitchen to multitool to samurai, but the prices drive me out, usually pretty quick!

Oh, I forgot , If I were in Sydney on a Friday I'd go to the Felder shop and steal something while Brendan is BSing with Waldo and that Howdya fella.

Yeah - that's where I'd go if my wife were shopping too......to work.

My SWMBO has stopped asking me to go shopping with her. She knows I can't stand it.

It used to be "I just need to duck into town to exchange a pair of pants. I thought we could both go and have a bit of lunch while we're there".
"Sure," says I. Quick exchange of the duds and then a nice lunch with the missus.

Didn't take me long to realise that the first sentence after the pants exchange is always; "While we're here, I thought we could.........."

    Nope. I'll stay home thanks.

Edit: SWMBO started getting cranky that I didn't like her brand of shopping. So I asked her if she would like to watch me play golf for an afternoon. You know - tag along and not really get involved. "That would be boring." Two raised eyebrows and she never asked me to go shopping again.

Generally sit in the car and read the paper or sleep, after a while I have figured out the time:real time ratio.
    couple of secs=1/2 hour
    won't be long= 1 hour
just going in here for a quick look=at least 2 hours
meet me back here at xxxxxx=add at least 1 hour

supercheap with my 2 year old in a backpack......look at a lot of cheap stuff wondering what I can do with it...... usually leave with nothing. Though the sandpapers priced the cheapest anywhere I've found.
