    Working on the housing for the conveyor motor and electronics re: control panel
    Sorry, I am all over the place. I just have no real plan. Planning as I go....

    I must weld the nuts on the base. These are the Screw nuts that the acme lead screw will use to pull the table up when the handle is turned.

    I seen another guy do something similar with the conveyor table and electronics and I liked it so I will do similar as you can see in the pic. This is the dc motor with a controller that I can install a front panel with pots and switches to control speed and direction etc...

    Impressive....
    Looking forward to seeing your mech for lifting the table...
    Was thinking single 1/2 thread to the middle on one side and other end to sit free on the other side
    There will be two metal strips on each side to hold the table in place... ie loose screws on each side... adjust the height by either screwing or unscrewing the middle 1/2 thread and then screw back the screw on metal strips...
    Hope I'm making sense...

    I'm not quite getting what you mean. The table will be adjusted constantly several times for each piece so having to screw each time you move the table up or down depending on the wood you are passing through it, you would need to screw the screws back?

    I will have 4 lead screws with a gear welded to the bottom of each and a chain going around to each of them so when one turns, they all turn the same amount thus moving the table up equally.

    Your solution is much more superior to mine.. I'm just concerned it might not move upwards equally...

    I don't see why it wouldn't move up or down equally. I am using an acme lead screw with nuts and sprockets on the bottom, so when one screw turns the rest turns the exact amount which in turn raises or lowers because of the nut attached to the table and the lead screws attached to the base.

    I got the idea from my General 15" planer, which is the exact same mechanism that I am trying to create.

    Got some more work done on the drum sander.

    Glued up the rollers and trued them up with a jig and a router. They run pretty true. At 1750 RPM no real vibration or rumble detected or felt. I am pretty happy so far how it is turning out.

    The conveyor table is being worked on as you can see. I am not really happy with the plywood.

    I wanted to put two roller bars on top of table with springs to hold down the stock as it rolls under the drum and upon exit. this will prove to be difficult as there is not much room at all. If I were to do it again I would have my table bigger.

    Overall I am happy so far with the project.
