Where can I buy some threaded inserts in Sydney?
Hello team,
I am looking to buy some threaded inserts for a project I am about to do, but am finding them really difficult to find. I have tried several bolt companies but most of them say "...they are for furniture making..." and don't stock them.
Any ideas - northwest to western Sydney is best but can travel if needs be.
Thanks in advance,
Anthony

Or there's Mcjing at Yagoona, Carbatec have them, just to mention a couple.....and as Ashore said, maybe even Bunnings, and Mitre 10 have them in Imperial threads.

Thanks for the quick responses. I have tried Bunnies, but they do not have them, I didn't think to try Mitre 10.
I will talk with the Tapex guys at Seven Hills they are sure to have them.
thanks for the assistance,
Anthony

Bought some at bunnies last month, could not find them had to ask, they had a separate furniture assembly fittings section away from the bolts and nuts

I found some at my local hardware in a small pack, quite expensive though! so waited and called into a specialist bolt place in East Maitland NSW who had them loose, better quality and at a good price!

Ashore,
Turn left (from Newcastle) at the intersection (lights)to Morpeth, they are about 3 buildings from the corner on your right in a little old building.

WL,
Not sure if you're still looking for these but I bought some not long ago from the hobby shop in Castle Hill, the one on Old Northern Road.
The brand is Du-Bro. They're made from brass but are only small sizes, in packets of 4-6 depending on the size.
Cheers

As JefHigh says, try Bunnings in the cabinet/kitchen fittings section. Trouble is that Bunnings staff have no idea what a threaded insert is, so you have to track it down for yourself. Even the smaller Bunnings stores have cabinet hinges, screws, bolts ...and threaded inserts of a variety of different sizes and styles., incl screw-in and tap-in styles. Usually 6mm metric thread.
In the same location you can find T-nuts too. Very useful for jigs. BUT, Bunnings staff have no idea at all what you're talking about.dave
nothing is so easy to do as when you figure out the impossible.

Coventry Fasteners definitely have them. Have a look in the Yellow Pages.
