Default Got a HNT Gordon Radius plane; needed an adjusting hammer!

So I purchased my first wood body plane from Terry at the HNT Gordon display at the Kyneton trade fair on Saturday. I realized when I went to play with it on Sunday that I didn't have a hammer / mallet to adjust it. So I knocked one up. Based loosely on a picture of one i saw on pinterest . Needs a bit of polishing on the head and some more wax to finish the handle but otherwise works well.

Yeah I am, thanks Rod. I'll admit to rushing this one through and there are things I would change but overall I'm really happy. By chance it worked out at 213g which is similar to the 200g plane mallets HNT Gordon sell and probably explains why it feels right.

I just finished putting in a 4mm locking pin of maple through the handle as the hammer head is attached with a 10mm rived walnut dowel I made that is mortised into the handle. I wasn't sure how to get a tight interference fit round tennon at the end of the mallet handle otherwise. The dowel was a tight interference fit so the head wasn't moving whilst striking in any case but I figured an extra bit of assurance wouldn't hurt.
This also allows each piece of the mallet to be easily disassembled if required as there is no glue etc.

Very nice hammer - and the head is very unusual.
