What to do with Dad's old Triton saw bench?
Making up some shelving for a job recently I set up my router in the Triton - Screwed some18mm ply in the saw holder with a round recess hole for the router foot, thinner ply glued underneath and screwed in cleats to hold the machine down. The whole thing slides forward reasonably accurately, I even fixed a handle at the rear to push and pull. I used the adjustable table height and router depth to get the slot I needed. This jig will cut a 490mm wide board. I got a Carb-I-Tool straight bit 19mm with down sheer (TSH 1424) to give a cleaner edge cut. Screwed on a long rest / stop and fiddled about for a while to get it cutting square.
No excuses for some pine shelving for home now!
Not sure if Triton already do this or if this facility is available on the new saw benches.
Cheers
Tim
