Square checker
G'day mates
This idea is from Steve Maskery so first please have a look at his video here

I'm just "showing off" that I made it and it was success

Thanks for that, niki. I wonder why that isn't in all the hints and tips books...
At first I thought that the requirement for the arms to be the exact diameter and exact radius of a circle and the pivot to be in the exact centre might be hard. But then I realsied that the size of the circle is irrelevant, so you just make the device up as close to exact as you can and sand the tips back until the short arm's tip touches both the tips of the long arm - then it is exactly half the length of the long arm and the pivot is exactly centred!
Greeny deserved, but I've got to spread the lurv before I can give you another, so have a virtual one instead!Last edited by jmk89; 8th October 2007 at 05:45 AM. Reason: Greeny failed

I gave the greeny Jeremy couldn't. Nice share that one. I also noticed that the simple construction tip was missing from the film. The short piece only has to be mounted anywhere so that the cross piece is longer on BOTH ends. Then pivot the short piece and cut them to match before sharpening to a point without changing the length.
Simple and clever. Glad I thought of it... Okay okay. So I'm glad someone else thought of it...

Don't know where you keep coming up with these great tips Niki, but I appreciate them...By the way, keep 'em coming.

I have to come one day and visit your shop, your beautiful works and all the Metabo collection (if I don't have...at least to see ).

The idea has something to do with "Thales Theorem"....I think...
