Matt
That jogs my memory now, but I don't have one. I think that reference stemmed from a thread of yours regarding vices for saws or was it saw vices?

Nice thread. I for one would be completely happy if nothing useful ever came out of my shed, and I could spend all my time making new tools for myself. Fixing up old tools and making them work better is also a lot of fun.
I have made myself lots of things - tenon saw, dovetail saw, various nice new tool handles, mallets, tool cupboards, endless jigs and stuff, and my workshop is full of old tools that were dead and I've given them a new life in my workshop. In the last two weeks, I've been fixing up an old bench grinder, making another mallet, and adding a soft-start to my drop saw.
TMA sounds like a horrible place..."Hi, my name's Dave, and it's been four months since I last had any fun..."Good things come to those who wait, and sail right past those who don't reach out and grab them.

I just went down to the workshop, cleared a space on the bench and threw on some of my hand-made tools. The chisels and hammer aren't completely handmade, but have been re-handled. As for tools for making tools, that ends up being most of them, doesn't it?

The mallet at the front is still in-progress. It will be carved with nordic designs before it's finished.Good things come to those who wait, and sail right past those who don't reach out and grab them.
