    Default Rocking chair plans

Here is a link to my favourite site for rocking chair plans (my own)

    http://www.st.net.au/~dundas

The plans and a detailed description of how to build a very comfortable reclining rocking chair are on a CD.

Here is a picture of the rocker.

    Hmmm nice rocker.

BUT I do feel you are disadvantaging the Aussie woodworkers as the USD price is far better value than the AUD price.

    Based at 1AUD = 0.76USD, 26USD = 34.2AUD INCLUDING overseas postage.
The AUD price is $35 + $5 postage. ouch.

Surely Australia Post isn't that bad ?

Having personally sat on this very Rocker pictured here, I can attest to its comfort and design. Maybe next millenium I may have time to build one
How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?

    Grue and Dean,

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Zathras,

The anomalous ratio between the price of my CD in Oz and the US is due to the recent meteoric rise in the Aussie $. I set the prices when the AUD was about 55 US cents, whereas now it is about 77 US cents. Perhaps I should raise the US price.

I still think my plans are good value for money for Aussies. The Scobie rocker plans are $7 cheaper, but IMHO his rocker is not nearly as comfortable or elegant as mine. I use my Scobie rocker as a typing chair, not to relax in. The only other plans that I am aware of for a rocker comparable to mine will cost you US$275. See

My website for rocker plans has now changed its location to

    http://www.dldundas.com

I think only four members have purchased the plans so far, and a few others have received copies for services rendered. I believe that none of the four has yet completed a rocker, but I have high hopes that DPB will do so fairly soon.

The CD now contains full-scale plans in .PDF format which can be printed at full size on A0 paper.

I attach another picture of the rocker.

I know I've said this somewhere before, but this Rocker is a superb chair to sit in, and the plans are as good as they get as well, backed up by a stupendous level of support.

I think I'll start two later this year and not finish them for a few more years!
