    Just beat me to it outback...I remember my teenage cousins working one day in, day out in the 50s near Blayney. No wonder they grew into big boys.
    From memory, it was powered by an old motorbike engine, and the many cracks in the blade were stop-drilled.

    As this thread takes on a life of its own during he week, and thee ain't no way i can keep up, i'll offer the answer to allow things to keep rolling.

    The flux used, is simply sand, i guess it's the silica in it that does the actual fluxing, but there you go.


    Now a simple one to get things going again.
