Need help with a drawing
Hi all,
Firstly, thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. And my apologies for not knowing any terms, but I am not skilled enough to do woodturning, but my grandfather was
Background: My grandfather passed away and I am wanting to get a tattoo of the first toy that he made me ~30 years ago..
I am wondering if anybody would have pictures of or be able to sketch something up along the lines of the first toy/present my grandfather made me when I was a kid. I have attached a quick picture that I did up to show roughly what I mean.. but it's main features were:
* Top and bottom were turned into plain round shape (about 50mm (2 inches) each.
* below top was a skinny part that he also made a floating ring (skinny part would have been 75-100mm/3 to 4 inches long)
* this tapered down to an oval-shaped stem about 150mm (6 inches) long. The widest part went to the same diameter as the top and bottom, and the skinnier part would have been about half that.
* the bottom was directly under this oval part - it was not tapered again.
I hope there is enough info for someone smart/artistic/or whatever person to get me a photo or a detailed drawing to go off
Again, thank you for any help that you can provide
And let me know if you need more info (I am only going off memories as I no longer have the toy)
Cheers,
Stuart.

Hello Stuart,
Is there anyone else in you family who might remember this toy? Have you tried searching the internet? There must be a
site out there somewhere with a picture of your toy. Hey! I just gave myself an idea! Do any of your early childhood photos show you playing with it?
I shall have a go at drawing it up tomorrow & send you the result.
Bye for now
Gerard
