Calling all Domino Experts
Guys, just a wee problem with the domino. I have started to use the sight gauge to line up the matching mortises, but found that it is not centered. This gauge on my domino can not be adjusted as the holes in the gauge are round and exact size of of the bolt that goes into the metal part.
Does anyone know if this can be fixed?
Regards
Les

I assume it is only a little out. I have heard of people using a needle file to slightly elongate the holes. Do a search on the FOG site as I am sure this topic has be covered.

Lesmeyer, if you can PM your email to me I can send you a PDF from Festool which has the answer you are looking for . I had the same trouble too when I was first using my Domino.

Yeah Dj, it's too big. the PDF is almost 3MB and it's been copy protected etc. so I can't go into it to extract the one page to make another single page PDF.

But there's always 101 ways to skin a cat.
Lesmeyer, I wondering if this is the problem and the fix you are looking for?

So if you were to email it to me so that I could upload it here as a full document that would take care of the copy protection but does it say it can't be shared or posted on the web?
Cheers

I don't know about anything to do with that, I haven't read the small print. It has security features on it that prevent me from saving it in another name or altering it. The one thing it does it let me do is print it out.
Give me you email mate and I'll send the PDF.

Guys, thanks for the info. I have read the doc a few days ago. It assumes that the holes in the perspex is elongated. Which it is not. I think the American models are different. If you look closely at some of the American documents, you can see it looks different to the one on my machine. The perspex window on my domino cannot move more than about 0.1 mm. I spoke to Brett at Festool and he says that the tool needs to be re-aligned by Festool. (Still under warranty).
Matt you have an idea that I considered, but did not want to damage the piece of perspex. Maybe I can buy another one and file one to see if I can get the result.

Domino calibration
Hi Lesmyer,
There is an excellent user manual available for Domino from the WEB. It covers all aspects of calibration of this excellent machine. Try it.
