    The short answer is Yes.
Many people here make their own, You can make any size you want up to 32 x 56mm. Do a search on dominoes and you should get lots of info. People use different ways of making them from rounding stock with a router to chamfering stock on a jointer.

    Regards,

    Rob

Yeah, it's remarkably easy. You run them down to long strips (check a few dominos with calipers so you know what you're aiming for) then round them over with a roundover bit in the router table and chop them up. Unless you need a 'bigger' domino to fit one of the looser settings it's probably not worth your while it's one of those 'wow that's easy, but I'm still not sure it's worth the effort' things...

Thanks guys for the info. Wasn't sure if it was possible. Does it take that much effort? don't suppose you could let me know roughly how much they cost? I probably should just go just at the shops

As much as I would like everyone to buy a whole lot more dominos , the nice thing about making your own dominos is making them to fit the maximum mortice size the DF500 can make. I think LGS identified it as 56mm wide. No need to just reproduce the standard off-the-self sizes.

So when time and convenience are a priority - get them off-the-shelf. When appropriate, or you want to experiment, make your own.

And already discussed in great detail in other threads, making your own dominos out of contrasting timbers for 'through-domino' joints can be attractive sometimes.

I make my own. Mainly for the widest setting. These are my # 3 size dominos and made to fit without having to bash it in with a hammer. Festool ones I find are too tight and have on various projects cracked the timber.
