Dust extraction DF500
I have a new Domino DF500 and thought, in my innocence, that the dust port would fit easily to one of the two extractor hoses I have for my Festool CT26L dust extractor/vac. The two hoses are the correct sizes to connect to my OF2200 router.
But, no, the port on the DF500 is tiny, the connector on the small diameter hose won't fit over the Domino dust port and the connector on the larger hose is far to big to fit.
Can anyone advise me what part number I need for an adaptor please? Alternatively, is there a non-festool adaptor readily available?

My hose fits over the small intake. It fits inside the track saw outlet.
Sure it's a little tight to get it over but it fits.
It was the hose that came standard with the ct35 (I think that was the model)"All the gear and no idea"

Thanks Gabriel, However, the DF500 is a domino machine, not a track saw. Or are you saying that the two have the same dust port size? My hose definitely does NOT fit as the hose is about the same size as the Domino dust port. Yes, one is rubber and one is hard plastic but rubber won't stretch that much. I am presuming other Domino DF500 owners have solved this problem?

Yes, I have both the track saw and domino -
It is the same size outlet on the domino as is on the Forex 150 as well. Confirmation on my extractor as well - it is the CT 32.
I have just snapped a couple of shots of it all. This setup is a few years old now so maybe there are a new set of connectors. I hope it gets sorted as using a domino is near impossible without extraction.

The 27mm hose that comes with the CT26/36 fits into the saws, OF2200 router and other gear that have the larger smooth exhaust port. It fits over the DF500, the sanders and smaller OF1010 router that have the ribbed port. It is a tight squeeze initially but it loosens up with use.
The 36mm hose fitting doesn't fit any of the tools that have a ribbed port unless you change the fitting but then you lose the benefit of the larger hose and for those tools the larger hose is unwieldy and unnecessary.

Thanks for all responses.
Ok, so maybe I am not being forceful enough with it. The Domino port is 28-29 mm by my measure and the hose, as you say is 27 mm so I did not imagine that I could force it over. It must be much more flexible than I thought possible.

Hi David,
Like the others have said but I find twisting it as if you are trying to thread it on helps.

David, you are right - fitting the hose to a Domino port is a difficult PITA (and unnecessarily so).
I created a workaround so that I could use a 36mm hose on all my Festools:
The 36mm connector slides over each of these quite nicely. I just give it a counterclockwise twist as I put it on or remove it so that I don't unscrew any of the connectors.
The short black piece you can in the router (top left) is actually the innards of the 27mm connector (pull it apart and you'll find it). It just so happens that the OD of that perfectly matches the ID of the 36mm connector. Cracker!
I have since changed the connection to a couple of them to just a short piece of ~27mm hose that I have lying around. The hose piece is only about 40mm long and I glued it onto the port with PU glue (where it wouldn't screw on properly.....like the Domino).
It's really quick and easy to change the hose to another machine now.
Furthermore, the extraction that I get on the sander and domino is FIERCE!

David, you are being a wimp! Put your back into it - eat your Weaties and push the little sucker with more ooomph. It will fit, although it is indeed a tight fit at first.
27mm hose ...

Thanks for those kind thoughts Derek! However, I hope that you realise that cereal breakfasts were actually invented by Mr Kellog as part of a puritan ethic to keep people pure i.e. too tired and weary to have "strong" thoughts about putting their back into anything. Give me bacon and eggs any day!
Your photo is very clear and helpful. I wonder why they would design such a difficult fit? FenceFurniture's solution seems more elegant that Festool's own.
Regards from Brisbane,
David

Ok, I agree
Alright, I accept: I'm a wimp. I agree - the hose does fit if you push hard enough.
