Whats better for quick removal? Im thinking glue lines in laminated panels where panels have slid up/down and not flush - a belt sander such as the 100mm makita

    or a 8mm deros?

A No. 4 or 5 hand plane will be faster, cleaner and quieter than any sander.

but if a sander is your thing -- the answer would be a Makita belt sander, used at 45 to 60 degrees to the grain

Agreed, although my personal pref. would be a well radiused blade in a No. 5 or 5 1/4.

True, but a sanding frame on a HolzHer 2410 or Derby, Metabo Ba E 1075, AEG 75E, Wurth, Atlas Copco 75E, or Festool BS 75E (all the same sander) would be best at keeping things flat & level.

In particular, PVA (Aquadhere etc.) glues ball up beautifully when about 90% dry, making removal of excess residues fairly straightforward. The "Gorilla Grip" type products (I forget the formulation name/s) are much stronger but also much harder to remove.
