Thread: Festool Domino machine

As someone who only gets a few hours each week in the workshop, the Domino means I can do 3 or 4 times as many projects in a year as before.
Plus I have never been able to get clean shoulders on my tenons, and don't seem to have the skills to get consistent tight fitting M/T (I admit both with some shame)
Love the domino...

Me too handy tool. I have some Irwin chisels which I like. I think I need a few nice 'worker' butt chisels.

VAT is 17.5% so using xe.com roughly translates 560.00 GBP = 1,187.38 AUD. Shipping from the UK is not cheap, under 2kgs is cheap over isn't (I spent 5 years there..) You can claim the VAT back 'somehow', I never worked out how .
Ideal Tools have the domino for AUD $1,303.01 which in the scheme of things is probably cheaper

You go around a local dealer to get a machine that might be a few dollars cheaper from overseas, how motivated do you think they'll really be to get it serviced for you if something (G*d forbid) goes wrong with it? It ain't a box of sandpaper, it's a Porsche that cuts fancy holes in wood.......
Do nothing, stay ahead
