Yes agree price is all relative to individuals be it for business or recreational use
I just finished a job for a client who bought a new Aston Martin DB11 which are over $500,000
He was telling me about the options list and the crazy prices
To change the colour of the thread used for the hand stitched seats was 3 grand and there is a crystal clock option that is $30,000
It is beautiful car though

Yes there is price competition on Festool items.
I have just bought a Systainer. I know it might sound crazy but I like to keep parts together.
One dealer, the website showed $ 105 + $14 delivery. Another dealer $ 102 + Free delivery.
Guess which one I ordered from.
Many years ago I bought the OF 1010 router. The plunge movement felt very stiff. Spoke to the selling dealer (Forum Sponsor) and they arranged pick up and return for a warranty repair. Found a couple of possible manufacture faults. So it was an additional week before I could use it, but I have not had any trouble since. Yes it was more than other similar routers, but in the right circumstances I can work virtually shaving free when connected to the dust extractor.
PS I have forgotten what I paid for my Festool gear, but I enjoy using it.

If I was in business making furniture the first thing I would buy would be two Dominoes, not being in business I won't even buy one.
