Default Festool, MFT, CMS and Incra?

A question for all you MFT owners out there – I want to buy a TS75, a MFT, a CMS extension and CMS insert for the TS75. Ok so that’s great….

…..but I’d like to build an Incra TS/LS system onto it, this is the tricky bit.

Also, what I had planned was to get the guys (well Graham) at Professional Woodworking Suppliers to custom build me a router top to fit into the MFT as well.

I’ve been drooling over the Incra system for some time now and would like to be able to utilise it for both the router table (built into the MFT) and the CMS extension. I’ve not seen a MFT up close so it’s a little difficult to ascertain. Does anyone know if it is possible to mount the Incra mounts on the side of the MFT?

If not I thought I could design the top in a manner which sat over the sides of the MFT (but this is obviously harder and more complex/expensive), and mount to that.

Other option is to not get a MFT and have made/make a table top which can hold the Festool CMS gear, the router and attach the Incra system to that. Question here being, is it possible to make a table which can handle the CMS inserts? not sure whats involved?

As an aside, I'd be getting a MFT for its designed purposes anyway.

To add some context to the above, what I want is a small setup capable of doing most things i.e. table saw and router table capability with Incra, plus the benefits of the TS75/MFT combo.

hi, i bought the cms-ge ts-75 about 4 months ago. it is a great tablesaw.
the insert has a hinge on one side which drops into place first.
then you lower the other side, you then turn to screws to lock it into position.

the angle stop fence which comes standard is great and can also be used as a rip fence.
the more solid stopper fence which is sold as an accessory is AU$500.
its way out of my price range, and i make do with the standard angle stop.

    regards, justin.

to mount the router I suggest you get Festo's router mounting plate for the CMS and if necessary drill some holes (probably not necessary) to attach the router you already have.

not sure about the Incra fence as my MFT predates the current model, but the side rails are ally so it shouldn't be too hard to drill a set of mounting holes

Default LS system fitted to Precisio

    Hi Elill,

I've put an LS system on my Precisio and CMS tables a while back. Works like a charm, been using it daily since the (our) summer.
You can see some detailts of my "coupling" in this post: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f70/in...io-cms-100298/

Maybe this can give you some ideas?

    Good luck,

    TheRut

Thanks for the feedback - the Festo CMS router plate is too expensive for what it does IMHO. I'd prefer a uni-lift with the Incra setup.

TheRut - I like you're set up, complicated but it works. One idea might be to just get two smaller LS and mount one to the MFT/CMS extension and have a seperate one for the router. I'd have prefered a single set-up though...

Looks like I'll have to make a few calls on this....my "local" (no names mentioned) Festool dealer in Sydney is useless, he didn't even know how to adjust the cutting depth on my Kapex...idiot.

Whenever it comes to buying stuff I wish I lived in Melbourne.

If you are seriously considering it, heading down to Melbourne's Hands-On show in Feb might be the way to go. Plan it around one of Ideal Tools workshops and really get maximum trip-bang-for-the-buck!

Thats not a bad idea. There are a couple of "premium" shops in Sydney that I might have to drag myself along too - flight to Melbourne is probably quicker in travel time however

Once I get my hands on a CMS insert I'll be able to figure out if I can custom mount it into a bench - this is my preferred option as it means I can allocate more money to other tools (more routers for example) which I would have to had spent on Festool tables.
