I have seen that site come up with what appears to be extravagant costings with product time & again.

Nope, they're quite intentional, and banking on those who fail to do their research.

"It's on EBay, it must be cheap".

I'd love to know their sales volume!

(Actually, someone ought to dob them in to Festool - surely they're an unauthorised distributor?)

I just couldn't see anyone falling for this. Surely the people who are really stretching to afford Festool are shopping around, and those people who are happy spending that sort of money would just buy directly from Festool or a reputable dealer. Unless there is a category of person in-between who doesn't want to pay retail but also doesn't make the time to shop around in search of a good deal...

Or maybe it's some sort of money laundering scheme...

    Cheers, Dom

Oh, and I noticed that the retailer I purchased my saw from reverted the price of the HK55 kit back to the retail price shortly there-after despite the item still appearing on their "specials" page, so Festool must have had a word. To add even more good news, Festool also allowed me to claim the track/bag promo they had running after I added a track purchase to the kit I had purchased. I was a very grateful and happy chappy. Thank you Festool Australia.

    Cheers, Dom

You'd be surprised how some people just don't research or impulse buy, I work in IT and am always amazed at the amount of people who get sucked into money scams, to the tune of almost a billion a year I think in Oz.

Like the money scams, you only need that 0.1% and your in front!

Festool can’t stop it, I bet they just buy retail and resell. That way they carry no stock and make a packet off any victims.

Yeah, and they could get the product shipped straight from Festool to their customer so that there is no shipping cost. Of course Ebay would still take their 10% cut.
