New Festool table saw coming - with Saw Stop technology.
https://www.festool.com.au/knowledge...awstop_article
i have a Festool table saw - they call it a trimming saw - the CS 40 - which I use for boxmaking. More than powerful enough. I’d prefer a Sawstop, but don’t even have enough space for the contractor version. Since Festool bought Sawstop some time ago I’ll be interested to see what their new saw is like (in 2020). Also whether it will accept blades other than Festool brand - the CS 50 has a proprietary octupus-shaped arbor. Very irritating.

Personally I think the SawStop saws are good value for money. I’ve been using one three days a week at our Men’s Shed - the Pro version - and it is solid, reliable, accurate and safe. Yes we’ve had a firing when someone slipped. I’m sure he would say that still having his fingers outweighs the cost. I certainly do.
i have no problem if people don’t want to buy a SawStop, but I can’t think of anything I’d rather have in the workshop.

Bosch’s Reaxx system fell foul of the US courts when Sawstop successfully argued Bosch has infringed its patent.
