Default Festool warranty transferable upon resale?

If a Festool is within its 3 year warranty period, and is sold, is the wty transferable to the new owner? In this case the tool was purchased just a couple of months ago by a mate of mine and he wants to sell it (because he found a second hand one at a good price - go figure).

I bought several Festool tools from a deceased estate, the belt sander and Domino were 18 months old and asked the Festool team the same question.
    Sorry was the answer.
Your friend may be in a different situation as the tools are so much newer?

my understanding is that the 3 year warranty is a standard 1 year PLUS 2 years for the original purchaser if they register the tool with Festool

so I think the answer is obvious

You could ring Festool and ask them. Wouldn't that make more sense?

as far as I know a statutory warranty is transferable, as it attaches to the "good" not the purchaser

Stihl product warranties are also non-transferrable

If you have a copy of the original receipt I would assume you could get warranty. Perhaps not the extended part if it's already registered

    Hi FenceFurniture

Ring Consumer Affairs in Sydney. In most states warranties are transferable no matter what the manufacturer or vendor says.
