Default Free HEPA filter from Festool

Anyone heard if Festool Australia are honouring the same deal as in the USA, where owners of CT26/36 are given a free HEPA filter if their machine did not come with one?

I doubt that will happen. There are new regulations in the USA for all construction that might disturb lead based paint. The reason that Festool USA is doing it because the old HEPA filters that these vac came with didn't pass some very rigorous testing. Our new regulations state that a "HEPA vacuum" must be used to contain and clean up lead paint dust. The problem is there is standard testing or any "HEPA" certifying process for vacs. That meant the testing that Festool USA had done had to prove with 100% certainty their vacs meet the HEPA definition to the letter because their reputation (and possible legal recourse) would be on the line.

The truth is the old HEPA filters worked just fine, but when it comes to lead based paint the fear far out weighs the actual dangers, so we end up with extreme measures to ease fears. Honestly guys, don't worry about your old HEPA filters.
