    Default New Plug-It cables

It seems that there is a new plug-it cable which presumably is easier to rotate and lock.

Anyone know when the change occurred and when the new plug-its started shipping with tools?

    Hi Mat,

Well no, not really. Not at least while they are new they don't seem any different from a usability point of view. But I have not really found the current design a problem.

The improvements in the standard (black) plug-it leads are internal, improving longevity.

All new plug-it leads being shipped from Festool in tools and spares should with latest improvements.

Also, a new PUR (lime green) version is available, largely water/acid proof and tougher outer sheath.

How long ago did they start shipping the new cables with tools?
Is there any way to tell the new from the old?

    Hi Mat,

It would be hard to nail exactly when the new leads started shipping. Because of different production packing runs, local stock reordering timeframes and stock movement speed differences between tools. Then each dealer will have different reordering rates.

As far as I can tell, there does not seem to be any external differences between earlier and current leads.

i have a love hate relationship with the plug it cables while its a great idea but i am buying always buying new ones as the cable falls out the end or the tool stops working.

it would be great for a heavy duty connection to be used.

With the new plug it cables in green they are not allowed onto commercial sites due to the colour...thanks to work cover....there will be an orannge version in the protool range which will be allowed dont knoow the part no. yet. They have also put a clamp on the inside of the plug it side to prevent it from pulling away....it was tested and proven in a tug a war match between the reps now thats good r&d and team building in one

mostly with the track saws my workers wrap the lead so tight around the handle that it pulls the wires out from the plug it base, they are not smarter enough to un plug it from the tool.

same issue with ETS 150 and 1400 router but not as much as the saws as these get abused i mean used every day.

i brought a TS75 today so hopefuly i will able to beat some sense into them before they break another one.

has any one opened up the plug it end to rewire the lose connection.

Easy solution is to get rid of them and employ some smart workers from Vic. Simple
