    Default ro 125 abrasives

Im hoping someone here can point me towards somewhere that does a mixed pack of abrasives for the RO125. brilliant 2 or granat would be fine. Im a DIYer so do big projects every now and again, not enough to snap the visa on sandpaper.

To get the 10 packs costs about $1.80 a disc, looking at the granat you could get 80,120,180,320 for $72 which leaves a few gaps in the sanding sequence.
While getting a decent range of grits in larger boxes of say 80,100,120,150,180,320 will cost $550. gulp

    What ive found so far

ideal tools does a mixed pack for 150, but I havnt been able to get hold of them over the ph, so dont know if they do 125.
Workmate Abrasives based in Sydney & Adelaide, Australia do 100 packs for around $50 with a matching hole pattern, so 6 grits will cost around $300 which is better. Has anyone tried their discs?

meanwhile i think my hole punch will be getting a workout

    Hi Rich,
I use the Sandpaper man,he advertises on this site ?
I use Festool ROS mostly the Sia brand discs with 9 holes and am more than happy with them but he does stock the Granat Festool ones too.
Have found the prices and service to be excellent.

I've gone through a LOT of different brands of abrasive (I'm the tester at work whenever a rep comes in with with samples) and my top picks are Indasa Redline, Astra and Wurth. Sia, Brilliant 2 and Norton are probably next best, but Granat was quite disappointing. Avoid Hermes like the plague.

I'll give sandpaperman a look, thanks for the tip.
Does indasa astra & wurth have matching hole pattern?
Was looking at granat as I read it is a good all rounder Brillaint vs. Granat

I know they have a few different hole patterns in 150mm, you'd have to check with the suppliers about 125

I need to make a correction as well, I got my Festool abrasives confused; Rubin was the crappy one, I haven't tried Granat.

I've only tried the granat that came in the box and it lasted quite well.
Have considered trading in the 125 for 150 as the abrasives are cheaper, and there are other options out there for the 150. Have been sanding a lot of carcasses and could do with the extra area..

I honestly don't know why anyone buys 125

Have to agree. Don't see the point. I have the Rotex 90 for tight small jobs and Ets150 for serious sanding. Just sold my 150/5 and will get the Rotex 150 but I still have a 150/3 for more delicate work.
The 125 is too much of a compromise and limited in available papers.

And the Granat is my go to.

Yeh. Live n learn. The ro 150 seemed way to heavy for an all rounder at the time. Might move 125 along for an ro 150, and get a cheapo orbital for thin veneer stuff till I can afford an ets

If you get an ETS, I recommend the 5mm over the 3mm; you can do finish sanding just fine with the 5, but trying to do coarse work with the 3 is tedious
