    Default Sanding pad coming loose

Has anyone had a problem with the sanding pad of an older version of the Festool ETS 150 sander coming loose while sanding?

I tighten the hex screw which attached the sanding pad to the machine quite tightly, but if I run the sander at speeds above 5, the screw becomes loose after a short time sanding. It usually runs for a fair time at speed 4, but even then it eventually loosens, which is a real pain.

I would me most thankful if anyone has a solution for this annoying problem.

you probably need a new screw.
before buying one, bring it into a festool dealer and see if a new screw will work.

yes I use the same festo.... LOVE it .... but did have same problem... the screw that tightens has to align exactly... and yes I couldn't tighten it enough... unfortunately for me it was truly I didn't have the MAN power.... it was just unscrewing when it was on high speed...
If the square bolt you align it with must sit exactly square on plate....if it is at all burred it will cause problems...cheers
well that's what happened to me...

    Hey Starr,

We have the same machine at work and when that started happening we had to get the bearing replaced in the bottom bit, that the hex screw goes into, also check the pad and see that it hasn't started to laminate, that throws the hole thing out of whack, and shakes the jigger out of the machine.
